I use Yamaha drums because they have the best combination of wonderful sound, incredible ease of use, and bulletproof reliability, The PHX, Hybrid Maple, and 1990s Maple Customs are favorites, but I love all of the Yamaha lines and am always thrilled to use them as backline. All of my drums are outfitted with Remo Drumheads - Coated Ambassadors top and bottom on everything, except for an Ambassador Snare Side on all the snares. I also use Canopus Vintage Wires on all of my snare drums.

My cymbals are Zildjian, and I am a particular fan of the K Constantinople Renaissance Ride. I also have a nice selection of Old Ks and Old As that get used for occasional recording sessions or gigs.

My sticks, brushes, and mallets are all by Vic Firth. I switch sticks around a bit, but mostly use the MJC5 model, occasionally switching to a 5A or 8D, either wood or nylon tip. Besides the sticks, I also use Heritage Brushes and T1 timpani mallets.

When I travel, I use Gator Cases. Their cymbal case is simply the strongest and most protective, yet lightest and lowest profile hard cymbal case you can buy.

I am also rather deep into the audiophile world because I want to hear music on recordings as realistically as possible. A lot of my listening is with headphones, and nobody makes cans that bring you closer to the music than Audeze. I use their LCD-5, LCD-2, iSine20, and the Deckard amp. I also use DACs from Chord Electronics - a Mojo 2 and a Qutest.
